About Us
We are a father-son duo making crispy chilli oil using our family recipe. It’s reminiscent of the crunchy chilli oil that I ate by the spoonful growing up and was our family’s take on the chilli oil you find when eating out at Yumcha restaurants.
Over time, most Yumcha restaurants have moved to a simple chilli oil made using dried chilli, making the rich and flavourful taste I grew up with now a novelty.
So, we decided to have some fun, took a little convincing from Dad, but he’s now onboard with this adventure that we’ll embark on together – sharing with chilli lovers our crispy chilli oil.
What makes us unique?
Unlike many chilli oils on the market, our recipe features 100% fresh Australian-grown chillies, not dried ones.
We love the vibrant flavour that fresh chillies bring to our oils, and while this means the process takes hours to perfect, it’s well worth it. We carefully extract the full flavour, ensuring the oil becomes fragrant while keeping the chillies crispy without burning.
Our chilli oil is further elevated with the addition of garlic, shallots, and dried shrimp, creating a perfect balance of savouriness, sweetness, and umami. Mild in heat, we designed it so everyone can enjoy it, and it's incredibly versatile. Whether drizzled over noodles, rice, eggs, dumplings, or even mixed into mayo, it adds a rich, flavourful kick.
